Tina Donkers - Geologist

Tina Donkers

Geologist

Tina is a geologist who enjoys hiking, backpacking, and experiencing the outdoors with others.

Tina is a retired geologist with experience predominantly in oil, gas, and mining exploration, along with some experience in teaching.  Although Tina is originally from Ontario and her office work experience has been in Calgary, Alberta, her field work has taken her to Nova Scotia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Yukon.

Tina believes that geology, like all sciences, is never at a standstill, nor is it ever settled. She is always open to other opinions and some lively discussion.

Living in Calgary, the mountains are a great playground for Tina. She enjoys hiking, backpacking, cross-country and downhill skiing—often with budding geologists who provide lively discussions about the changing landscape, geologic features, plant and animal life.

Along with exploring the geologic environments in various parts of Canada, Tina finds listening to locals and learning about history, culture, and politics of great interest.
