Stephanie Robertson Kempton
Assistant Expedition Leader
Stephanie is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for education and the incredible processes at work making our planet inhabitable.
Stephanie has spent most of her life on and around the ocean. She started sailing at a young age in Nova Scotia (Mi’kma’ki), and her parents let her drive their first Zodiac (with a very large electric two horsepower engine) at the age of seven. Since then, her love of the ocean has brought her far from her North Atlantic home to the Mediterranean, the Arctic, the North Pacific, and Antarctica.
In high school, Stephanie’s parents convinced her she had to take the marine science course offered at the UWC she attended. It didn’t take her long to realise this was the path for her—she ended up pursuing a bachelor of science in ocean sciences, followed by a bachelor of education in secondary science. While completing her studies, Stephanie began working as a ski patroller in Nova Scotia in 2017.
In 2022, a happy series of events led her to Adventure Canada. As of 2023, she has been working as an expedition first responder in the Arctic and Antarctic, enjoying the beautiful places and wonderful people it connects her with.
When not on a ship, you can find Stephanie sailing on her boat in Nova Scotia or exploring the mountains in France, where she now calls home.
