Nanna Frederiksen
Inuit Cultural Educator, Expedition Team
Nanna has been in nature and sailing since before she could walk. She loves sailing her boat and being outdoors.
Nanna is twenty-one years old and was born and raised in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland.
Growing up, she was taught by her parents and older brothers how to hunt and sail. She learned to make use of what they call natural resources, always with deep respect for the ocean and the surrounding nature.
Raised alongside three big brothers, she was determined to do everything they did—whether it meant jumping into the ocean, crossing an ice-cold river, learning to shoot a rifle, or learning how to sail a boat. Her father, whom she considers their greatest teacher, never treated her any differently because she was a girl. That upbringing shaped her into the adventurous and stubborn person she is today.
