Kyle Kowtak

Inuit Cultural Educator, Expedition Team

Kyle is a Zodiac driver, bear monitor, and Inuit friend!

Kyle is an Inuk born in Whale Cove, Nunavut, and raised in Rankin Inlet. He grew up spending a lot of time out on the water and the land, boating, hunting, and camping.

Kyle is passionate about sharing Inuit culture and helping people. He has spent the last four years pursuing his post-secondary education in Ottawa. He attended Nunavut Sivuniksavut (NS) for two years, where he studied Inuit history, language, and politics. Currently, he’s pursuing a degree in social work at Carleton University. He enjoys this area of study as he really wants to help his fellow Inuit.

During his time off from school, Kyle has worked the past three years for the Canadian Coast Guard with search and rescue in Rankin Inlet. On board, he assists with bear guarding and Zodiac driving, and facilitates Inuit games and workshops to share Inuit culture.
