Bridging North and Nation: Advancing Arctic Stewardship Through Reconciliation
James currently works as a research manager with Dr. Jackie Dawson at the University of Ottawa in the Environment, Society, and Policy Group Lab. He joined Dr. Dawson's team after close to twenty years of experience working for the Canadian federal public service in a number of departments and roles related to the environment, international cooperation, marine safety and security, and collaboration with Indigenous peoples.Â
He is currently supporting the implementation of a number of different projects with Inuit and Northern organizations to support the planning for the International Polar Year in 2032 to ensure that national objectives align with local priorities.Â
