He is currently working on a PhD in Canadian Studies at Trent University. David won the 2023 prize for Best MA (or Equivalent) Thesis or Major Research Paper in Canadian Studies from the Canadian Studies Network. In 2022, he was awarded a Cobourg Civic Award for Distinguished Arts and Culture

His latest album, NORTHBOUND, was inspired by his Arctic journeys with Adventure Canada. His new musical project, In Search of Lost Trees, has been featured by CBC Radio and Roots Music Canada. David spent seven years working full-time with Adventure Canada, aboard and ashore. He is excited to be returning this season as a Zodiac driver, performer, and expedition host.
