Adam Ruzzo
Musician, Expedition Team
Adam is a long-time musician with an eclectic performing background, an avid traveller, and passionate about all things history and culture!
Adam has been singing and playing guitar for audiences for the last twenty years in a wide variety of venues across Canada—from a resident musician at The Royal York Hotel in Toronto to folk music venues in Newfoundland, Whitehorse, and ships in the High Arctic, of course! He has done a TEDx talk about his music and holds a master’s degree in classical guitar performance from the University of Toronto.
Along with music, Adam has a depth of passion and experience in the outdoor world. In 2014, he completed a “primitive skills” apprenticeship, diving deep into the world of shelter building, bow hunting, friction fire, and other survival skills. This led him to build his own log cabin near Algonquin Park, which he called home for five years, growing a deep appreciation and connection to the ancient song and dance of the natural world. While living there, he worked as a backcountry warden in the Ontario Parks system. His life these days is a combination of the two worlds—doing expedition travel and recording music!
