Aboard The Ocean Albatros

Launched in 2023, the Ocean Albatros is a purpose-built expedition vessel designed for small-ship exploration. A sister ship to the Ocean Victory, it blends comfort, capability, and environmental responsibility—offering a refined, contemporary platform for immersive journeys into remote and remarkable regions.

The Pool Deck is a place to pause and take in the wider world. Outdoor jacuzzis offer warmth against open air and expansive views, while the nearby bar invites informal conversation and shared reflection. It’s a relaxed gathering space shaped by horizon, weather, and passing ice.

The Fitness Room offers a quiet space to move and reset between days ashore. Equipped with cardio machines and weights, it supports flexible routines rather than strict schedules. Large windows keep the surrounding landscape present, allowing movement, recovery, and awareness to exist side by side.

The ship’s library is a calm space for curiosity and reflection. A thoughtful collection of natural history, expedition accounts, reference works, and fiction offers multiple ways to deepen understanding. Comfortable seating and wide windows encourage reading, thinking, and following questions sparked by the places we visit.

Observation Lounge

The Observation Lounge is a shared lookout and social hub, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s a place to watch for wildlife, track changing light, and exchange stories over coffee or a drink. Binoculars close at hand, the landscape often leads the conversation.

Mud Room

The Mud Room is a functional, well-organized space where shore excursions begin and end. Located on Deck 3, it provides storage for boots and outer layers and supports smooth Zodiac operations. Designed for efficiency and shared use, it helps ensure calm, prepared transitions ashore.

Life aboard the Ocean Albatros is shaped by a strong sense of community and shared discovery. Thoughtfully designed social spaces encourage conversation and reflection, while expansive windows frame ever-changing seascapes. With a high staff-to-guest ratio, travellers spend meaningful time with the expedition team whose perspectives add depth and context to every landing and conversation. Shared meals, engaging talks, and quiet moments on deck foster a deep sense of connection to place, to one another, and to the journey itself.

Welcoming public spaces—including panoramic decks, a bright lecture lounge, a quiet library, and open-air gathering areas—encourage both social connection and personal reflection. Cabins are designed for comfort and calm, with ninety-three ocean-view accommodations, many with balconies, as well as single-occupancy options and a roommate match program. Wi-Fi is available throughout the ship, supporting connection while remaining grounded in the experience at hand.

Dining aboard the Ocean Albatros reflects Adventure Canada’s belief that meals are an extension of the journey itself. Guests gather in inviting dining spaces to enjoy menus that balance international comfort with regional inspiration and a focus on responsibly sourced ingredients.

Complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks are served with dinner, and relaxed social spaces offer opportunities to continue conversations long after plates are cleared—indoors or out on deck when conditions allow.

From Ship to Shore

Designed with expedition logistics in mind, the Ocean Albatros makes transitions between ship and shore seamless. A spacious mud room keeps gear organized, while a fleet of sturdy Zodiacs enables efficient access to beaches, rocky coastlines, and wildlife-rich waters. These landings form the heart of the experience, bringing guests face-to-face with landscapes and communities encountered along the way.

With Polar Code 6 and Ice Class 1A certification, the Ocean Albatros is equipped to navigate ice-prone waters confidently, expanding the range of environments we can explore responsibly and safely.
